I was disappointed when I received this, but gave it to my granddaughter anyway for her 9th birthday. I doubt she will ever use it. The cover is everything. The inside has blank pages for drawing and lined pages for a journal. I thought there might be something on the pages about turning 9 or inspirational messages or something more than there was.
